Flow Hive – Beekeeper invention to tap honey without opening the hive

Beekeepers rejoice – the long and complicated task of extracting honey from your hives has been simplified by a new crowdfunded invention that that allows you to fill your jars with honey at the turn of a tap.

Flow Hive was invented by a father and son team and is on sale on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo for $600. The invention has obviously hit the spot, with the original $70,000 funding goal achieved in 477 seconds and the product then going on to bring in $2.18 million in the next 24 hours, with donations from more than 11,600 contributors.

The Flow Hive honey tap raised $5.3 million on the San Francisco-based crowdfunding platform.
